artist statement

"Drawing is the basis of everything" said Giacometti, but it is also everything
in itself. It is often enough, drawing for the sake of drawing.The subject is a
pretext; it effaces itself and leaves room for the strokes of the pencil. A
blank piece of paper, first contours and then forms; the pencil surrounds,
traces a repetitive movement, incessantly, creating the subject matter.
We pass to grey,contrasts appear and disappear, light and dark remain.
